Birchbox February 2014

Birchbox is a $10 a month subscription service. Click here to sign up for Birchbox.

Yesterday, I received this month's Birchbox in the mail. The theme of this month's box was Step and Repeat. They explain that their theme is inspired by the award season. They have teamed up with Us Weekly this month. I was really excited for this month because of this partnership with US Weekly

Items I received

  • Bain De Terre passion flower color preserving shampoo
  • Bain De Terre passion flower color presevering conditioner
  • Joan Vass L'eau de Cristal: this perfume is explained to have a blend of bergamot and musky patchouli. I am sick right now so I can't really smell this and tell if I like it or not.
  • Previse Hydromilk: I guess this is a moisturizer? I am not really sure.
  • Ruby Wing color changing Nail Polish in Ride 'Em Cowgirl: This is supposedly color changing polish and the gold glitter is supposed to change into sparkly berry color in the sun. I haven't tried it yet but it sounds cool.
My thought on this box:
This month's box is pretty dissapointing. I hate getting shampoo and conditioner in my Birchbox. The only good side of the shampoo and conditioner this month is that it is not in a foil packaging. I also feel like I have been getting way too many perfume samples. And while the idea of the color changing nail polish seems really cool, I am not liking the color that much. Overall, this month's Birchbox was a fail for me.

Please let me know what you got in your Birchbox or what you think about Birchbox in the comments!

Zoya Rue & Julep Love

After writing the Julep Maven February 2014 post yesterday, I decided to paint my nail. I used Rue by Zoya and went over it with Julep Love. I bought Rue by Zoya while ago, when they were doing 3 for $12. It is part of the natural collection. I got Love by Julep in my February 2014 Maven box. It was a gift to every Maven. Check out my Julep Maven February 2014 post to see everything I got this month. Leave a comment about what you think of my nails or what nail polish you are wearing now !

Julep Maven February 2014

Julep Maven box is a monthly nail polish and beauty subscription box. It is $20 per month.Every month they send you an email describing what the different option for the boxes are (there's five unique boxes), so you can choose which one you want! And there's an option to skip a month if you don't like any of the boxes you see. The first box is free with the code FREEBOX!  So why not give it a try? Click here to try Julep Maven

I skipped last month's Maven box because I did not see anything I liked. But this month, I had to get it because the nail polish that comes as a gift seemed so pretty. Also, they included a liquid eyeshadow and since I am a huge eyeshadow junkie, I had to try it !

Here is  picture of the box. I went with Boho Glam again this month.

The two nail polish in the box were Rooney (left) and Cameron (right). Rooney is described as walnut black creme nail polish on the Julep website. I actually don't like how this color looks and I don't think I'll be keeping it. Cameron is described as silver lilac star dust with matte finish. It looks so gorgeous and I am really looking forward to using it.

This month's box came with a liquid eyeshadow. I was having trouble trying to choose which one out of 4 I should get. I ended up getting dusty taupe shimmer. I was really excited for this and was the main reason why I had to get the box this month. However, after using the product for two days, I am pretty dissapointed with it. The color is very pretty, but I feel like it takes way too long for it to dry on the eyelid.
Here is a swatch of it.

This was the much anticipated gift for the February box. This was a gift nail polish that came with every box. It is described as full coverage gold, pearl, and fuchsia micro glitter. It looks sooooooooo pretty! I am probably going to use this first.

So this is my thought on the Julep Maven February box. Leave a comment on your thought about the box, if you have one too. Please don't hesitate to leave a comment!

Review on Julep Body Products

I bought three body products from Julep about two months ago. They were having a sale so I got each item for $5, when it originally is $19.99.

This is a picture of how the Pink Body Frosting looks like. It is pink grapefruit scented. I personally don't really like the smell of it. However, I love this frosting. It feels very nice and does not feel greasy on the skin. It also moisturizes my body and the it actually keeps my body moisturized.

This is just a Pomegranate Body Creme. I love the smell of this, but I don't think this moisturize my body enough. Plus, it does feel greasy. Overall, this product is something I will not buy again.

This is the Pomegranate Body Scrub. I absolutely love this scrub. It does an amazing job and smells amazing. I would probably buy this again if it's on sale. However, I don't think I would pay around $20.00 for this scrub, because that is a bit pricey.

Overall, I am happy with these purchases. I am glad that I bought them when they were on sale, since Julep products tend to be pricey.
